Who is "Spreading the Faith"?

At the moment, Spreading the Faith consists of one ministry assistant, a virtual assistant specializing in ministry needs. (Just in case "virtual assistant" is a new term to you, it is an off-site person who provides administrative office support services, conducting nearly all transactions electronically.)

My name is Faith Young. Having grown up in a pastor/Christian educator's home, ministry is familiar and yet very special territory to me. I myself have worked in a variety of positions--most of them in ministry: teaching in three Christian schools, being secretary in another Christian school, proofreading and editing in two Christian publishing companies. I've also worked in the Customer Care department of a company that delivers phone directories nationwide, virtually assisting field managers to meet client standards and resolve customer concerns. Would you like to be free from the burden of time-consuming administrative and office management busywork so that you can focus more on what God has called you to do? Are you frustrated because so many "little things" gobble up time that should be spent with your family? This business/ministry was crafted especially to attend to the secretarial and administrative needs of churches and Christian ministries, pastors and Christian workers. I particularly would like to help small to mid-size churches and ministries that are not large enough to need or support a full-time administrative assistant but are large enough to need help!

I'm also available to help larger churches and ministries with new, special or seasonal projects if they wish to avoid overloading their office staff.

Regardless of size, I offer Christian organizations quality office support without the expensive overhead involved in creating office space, supplying it with necessary office furniture, phones, computers and related equipment, and connecting it to phone and internet services. Contracting with me also eliminates the necessity of a payroll administrator and payroll taxes, insurance and benefits.

How can you not benefit from a service that allows you to redeem your time? By working remotely with me via fax, e-mail, the internet and telephone, you could shave hours off your workload. What else could you accomplish for God--in your family and ministry--if you didn't have to spend so much time on your paper and computer work?

What services does "Spreading the Faith" offer?

I offer a select range of ministry office support services such as word processing and data entry, organization, desktop publishing and graphic design, letters and newsletters, greeting card program, mailing services and basic web design. If what you need done isn't listed, contact me, and we'll discuss it. My work experience has exposed me to a wide array of duties, so possibly I can do what you have in mind.

My services may be used "as-needed" at either an hourly or per-project rate, or by weekly, monthly or quarterly contract--or any combination of the above.

Worried you don't have the budget? The good news is you're not hiring me full time. You will only be charged for the time I have actually worked on your project.

Two items are of special interest to me. One, I would like to increase the visibility of churches, primarily by helping them to establish a website to provide information to the local community, people moving into the area, and people traveling on business or vacation. Website construction can be costly, but it does not have to be. A basic, but informative site (like this sample) is inexpensive. Contact me to discuss affordable web presence!

Also, I would like to facilitate interaction and fellowship between members of a congregation by compiling church directories. Why is "Spreading the Faith" a better choice for Christian ministries and workers ?

1 Corinthians 12:28 reads, "And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that ...gifts of ...helps ."

My role in spreading the faith is to help you with as many of the daily or monthly administrative tasks that bog you down as I possibly can so that you can focus on your role in spreading the faith as one of the "apostles, prophets, and teachers." I work on the "little picture" so you can work on the "big picture."

When you choose "Spreading the Faith," you will be working with someone who already understands firsthand the perspectives and demands of ministry. As I mentioned above, I grew up in a pastor's home. A number of family members are pastors, missionaries, Christian educators, music ministers and evangelists. I myself have worked sixteen years in one capacity or another in Christian education, so you can see that I am part of a family with a heart for and heritage of ministry.

You will be depending on someone who is dedicated to producing excellent work because I work for the King, and His work dare not be shabby. People in the church and community evaluate God based on the level of our excellence.

You will be assisted by someone who finds your tedious and time-consuming details to be meaningful because I understand those details are part of a work that matters forever.

How does "Spreading the Faith" work?

Your data may be relayed to me by phone, fax, email or "snail-mail." I will work in my office with my software on my computer.

When I have completed your project, I will save it as a PDF file and attach it to an email to you. You will review the file for approval and respond to me with any corrections still needed. I'll make corrections and return it to you for your approval. If no corrections are needed, you'll simply hit "Print"!
